MOGADISHU- Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Friday joined members of public for Eid prayers at Isbahaysiga mosque in the capital Mogadishu.
President Mohamud congratulated the Somali people and all Muslims around the world as they celebrate Eid- Al. Fitri.
He asked the Somali people to continue showcasing kindness to the vulnerable people in the society the same way they did during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The President was accompanied by the House of People Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe and other senior government officials.
Somali Federal government had on Thursday evening declared today as the first day of Iddul-Fitri following the sighting of the month in several areas in the country.
Similar Eid prayers were held in the Horn of Africa Nation and across the World.
The crescent moon of Shawwal was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Thursday marking the end of the fasting of the holy month.
Eidul-Fitri falls on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of Islamic calendar.
The religious holiday is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because heralding the end of the month-long dawn-dusk fasting.
