MOGADISHU– President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday held meeting with Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s President Kaguta Museveni Senior Advisor for Special Operations.
The meeting which took place at the Villa Somalia, the Presidential Palace in the capital Mogadishu saw Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba conveyed a message from President Yoweri Museveni on collaboration in the fight against terrorism.
According to a statement from Villa Somalia, President Mohamud condemned the recent Bulomarer attack on Ugandan #ATMIS forces, conveying his deepest condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.

The President thanked the government and the people of Uganda for their unwavering commitment to Somalia’s security.
Al-Shabaab militant group in a daring dawn attack had on May 26 ambushed Ugandan peacekeeping soldiers stationed at Buulo Mareer, a base in Lower Shabelle, killing at least 50 soldiers, with more feared dead.
Uganda and Somalia enjoy good diplomatic relations with both Nations maintaining embassies in Mogadishu and Entebbe.
Uganda has been supporting Somalia in different facets primarily the security sector where Ugandan troops serving under the African Union Transition Mission ( ATMIS) have been involved in pacifying the Horn of Africa Nation that has been grappling with Al-Shabab insurgency.
