MOGADISHU– Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has on Tuesday held meeting with top security commanders in the capital Mogadishu.
The discussion centred on ways of bolstering the security of the capital amid the ongoing Al-Shabab operations in several parts of the country.
Prime Minister Barre urged the security chiefs to stay alert as the Al-qaeda affiliate group continue to suffer huge losses setbacks on the front lines.
He lauded the security heads for the improvement and enhancement of security in the city and called on them to bolster the war against Al-Shabaab militant group.

The meeting comes amid sustained onslaught against the insurgents across the country as government forces to continue to wrestle the group from huge territories in Central and Southern Somalia.
Somali National Army forces have successfully in the past two days made great strides towards the capture of the strategic town of El Bur in Galgaduud region, Galmudug State.
The SNA forces backed by local clan militias have also on Monday liberated Wabho area in the Galgaduud region from the grip of Al-Shabaab militants.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is in Dhusamareb town to ensure the fruitful completion of the first phase of uprising against Al-Shabaab before the government embarks on the second phase to recover large territories from the militant group.
