MOGADISHU-Somalia’s Minister of Security Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Doodishe held meeting with Somali Police Chief and Somali National Army Commander Gen. Odowaa Yussuf Rage.
The meeting took place in the National capital Mogadishu.
Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar is the Somali National Police force Chief.
They discussed ongoing onslaughts against the Al-qaeda affiliate group Al-Shabaab in several parts of the country .
Plans to secure and liberate big cities in Central Somalia and other strategic areas across the five regional States also featured prominently in the discussions.
In a statement posted on his official Twitter handle, the Minister said that he received briefs from the security commanders on the ongoing Security operations and as well as the strategy for stability and assuming control over the liberated areas.

On Friday, At least 19 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in heavy fighting between the militants and government forces near the Basra District in the Middle Shabelle region.
This is even as the public uprising against the militants across the Horn of Africa Nation continues to gain momentum.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre have urged for concerted efforts to combatting against Al-Shabaab.

Mogadishu Police Commander Brigadier General Farhan Mohamud Adan better known as ” Qarole” was on Friday last week killed in Bala’d district after landmine planted on the road exploded killing him instantly and injuring his staff.
Al-Shabab militant group has been waging war in Somalia over three decades and have been trying to destabilise the Federal government backed by the United Nations.
