MOGADISHU– Somali Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Issack Mursal has on Tuesday held meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Somalia Mr ibrahim Mete.
They discussed wide range of topics on strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade and investment projects.
They also deliberated on current situation in the country and bolstering the way against Al-Shabaab which has been an impediment to the Somali government.
Mr. Mursal highlighted to the Envoy the progress made by the Somali Federal government in the war against terror reiterating that the government is committed to eradicating Al-Shabab in the country in the coming months.

He also appreciated efforts by the britgerly country of Turkish in supporting the Somali Federal government in different facets including Security and development projects.
On his part, Ambassador Mete underscored the unwavering commitment by the Turkish government in continuing to invest and help in state building and other multifaceted arenas.
Mr. Mete commended the Somali government in its war against Al-Shabaab and called for the heightening of the combat against the insurgents so as to the Somali people realise prosperity in the future posterity.
Somalia and Turkey Governments have enjoyed historical and entrenched diplomatic and bilateral relations which has lee to Economic and institutional growth in the Horn of Africa Nation.
Turkish government also supports Somali government in training its military personnel and have also extended hand to the Somali students who study in different tertiary institutions in the country in the middle East.
