Somal National Army especially its Gorgor commandos have today carried out special operation in the areas of Ceel-Xaji and Ceel Dhigtaar in Galcad district of Galgaduud region.
In the special operation the military thwarted explosive attack by Al-Shabab who wanted to carry out reads a statement from the office of the head of Gorgor Battalion.
The commander of the 7th battalion of Gorgor, Dhamme Mahad Imaan who spoke to the state media said that the operation was planned and that the forces were preventing mines and other explosives planted by the militant group into the roads used plyed by the public.
The commander also indicated that the operations by the SNA forces will continue and urged the people living in the areas where the operations are conducted to cooperate and volunteer useful information to the national army.
Moreover ,this special operation is part of several other operations where the Somali government is weeding out Al-Shabab from the Horn of Africa Nation.
The Somali government forces have in recent months captured large territories of land from the group in Central and Southern Somalia.
