MOGADISHU– Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Monday held meeting with the Speaker of Lower House Sheikh Adan Madobe.
The meeting focused on bolstering closer cooperation between the legislative arm of government and the executive.
A statement from the office of the Somali Premier said that PM Barre underscored the importance of continued cooperation between the two branches of government with a view to guarantee accountability and transparency.
The statement added that the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the members of the House of People for passing key legislation which are crucial for the country including security and Highly Indebted Poor Countries bill ( HIPC).

PM Barre also highlighted his administration commitment for accountability calling on the parliamentarians to exercise their constitutional right to keep the government in check.
He further delineated that the executive will forward and table any agreement or resolution enacted by the National Consultative Council ( NCC) in a bid to enhance the efficacy and work on parliament.
Eventually on his part, Speaker Madobe assured the Prime Minister of the unwavering collaboration from the Parliament which he said is essential for a functional and robust government.
