President Bihi urged elders and scholars to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful manner devoid of mayhem.
The President didn’t specify whether the elections are Presidential polls or political parties since the government previously wanted the election of unions to precede the Presidential elections which the opposition vehemently opposed to.
Somaliland Electoral Commission has asked the constitutional court to explain the contested election rules, saying that they will slate date for the elections after the court’s decision.
The government of Somaliland and the New parties said that they will accept any verdict from the court while the opposition parties claim that the court has no role in the dispute at hand saying it’s the role of the electoral commission.
