MANDERA – Two people have died and several others were injured in an Al-Shabab attack at Jabibar village along Rhamo-Elwak road in Mandera county on December 11 morning.

According to police reports, a father and his son died instantly while driving in their land cruiser heading to Elwak and three others were Injured.

County Commissioner Onesmus Kyatha confirmed the incident on phone.

The three who were injured are National police reservists attached to Jabibar police post and they were aboard the land cruiser.

The NPR officers who were heading to Gari village are nursing injuries at Rhamo Sub-county Hospital.

Gunfire exchange reported ongoing in the area as security officers from different units have been deployed.
