MOGADISHU- United Arab Emirates on Monday delivered food and medical aid to Somali government amid the restoration of ties between the two Nations after three years of severed relations following the confiscation of $9.6M Money of UAE by the Somali National Intelligence based at Mogadishu’s airport in 2018.
The Plane carrying the food aid from UAE’s Red Crescent arrived at noon local time at Aden Adde Airport and was received by the
National drought relief committee led by Humanitarian Affairs Minister Khadija Diriye and is expected to be distributed to families affected by the drought.
This is the third batch of food and medical aid from UAE after Prime Minister Mohamed Roble engaged with UAE government and gave out an apology and promised to return its money.
On February 8th, the second batch of aid was received by Somali government and the first one was delivered on January 7th and was received by PM Mohamed Roble.
