Wajir ECD teachers have today down their tools to protest against low payment despite disseminating various proposals to relevant government agencies to address the matter.
The tutors whose visibility looked disappointed said they are not going back to the dusty classses until their issues are resolved immediately.
They told journalists in Wajir that they will not relent on championing for their rights and urged the county government to intervene before things get out of hand.
“We have been patient for long we have eve given the government enough time to at least consider us but to no avail.
We, the teachers of Wajir county have now reached a conclusion and a made a decision not to go back to class untill given letters and assured permanent and pensionable “ .Jimal Yussuf ,secretary ,Wajir county ECDE teachers.
The young kids who are taught by the ECDE teachers are at lose as teachers who come under the county government of wajir vacate classes today claiming that the amount of money gotten by them as salaries at the end of the months is not fit for them .
They outlined that their main concern is that they worked for the community and the government of wajir county by teaching the young kids and continue to give them a firm foundation but their hardwork always goes unrewarded due to poor pay.
The early childhood development education teachers (ECDE)now say its fine for them to put down their tools so as to let the county government of Wajir notice their absence.
The teachers have further lamented that they do not even get the necessary tools for teaching including the chalks which are very essential in classes .For sure no teacher deserves but in Wajir it’s not a wonder.

It is undoubted that no one can be taught by a teacher who feels oppressed from one side. The young and innocent pupils in Wajir county have now been left hopeless not knowing whose shoulder to lean on .
