WAJIR COUNTY- Wajir longest serving general surgeon Dr. Zenaye M. Zaleke has been killed after he was knock down by over speeding police vehicle in Wajir town Sunday night.
The doctor who was by then said to have been crossing the road lost his life on the spot and his body was taken to wajir refferal hospital for preservation.
Dr.Zenaye who is an Ethiopian National was until his death a practicing surgeon at Wajir referral hospital is an Ethiopian by birth. He served his people with much love and honour.
Wajir county governor Ahmed Ali Muktar sent condolences to the loved ones of the deceased and urged the police drivers to be watchful.
“I urge the road users, the public and especially the police vehicle drivers to limit their speed and be cautious when driving; it’s through reckless driving that we lost our longterm surgeon of Wajir County Referral Hospital” The governor wrote this on his official social media pages.

Wajir county medical practitioners have today taken to the streets to protest against the killing of the doctor and called on the relevant authorities to arrest the person behind the murder of their colleague.
Confirming the incident to the media in Wajir town, Wajir East OCPD Kennedy Osando said that the accident took place yesterday and involved a police motor vehicle.
“I want to report that yesterday the 28th day of November an accident occurred around public works best and outside Grand Oasis hotel, The accident involved a motor vehicle which was identified as a police vehicle and pedestrian who was identified as a general surgeon at Wajir referral hospital.” Said Mr Osando.
The body of Dr.Zenaye has since been transported to Kenyatta University teaching and Referral Hospital in Nairobi for preservation and further administrative actions.
