Two children aged 5 and 7 years respectively have been found killed in a cold blood after they went missing on Monday night in the capital Mogadishu.
The two siblings- a boy and a girl were reportedly sent errands by their mother to buy a food spice from a nearby shop but never returned home leading to a foiled search operations on Monday night.
Residents discovered the bodies lying near Shabelle University in the outskirts of Moqadishu the following morning and thereafter alerted their mother who had been looking for them but to no avail.
Speaking to journalists at the crime place, the subdued mother of the children, Nasteha Mohamed Noor told journalists that she sent her children to buy spices but did not come back compelling her to raise an alarm to the people of the neighborhood about her missing siblings.
” I have frantically looked for my children from every corners of the village but did not find it hear their whereabouts and did not have a microphone to announce to the neighborhood about the missing children.” said Nasteha.
Criminal Investigation officers from the CID homicide bureau arrived at the scene of the crime and documented the crime site before arresting a suspect who is believed to be behind the killing of the young siblings.
The killing of the children comes barely a day after a mother was gruesomely murdered by her husband in Hamar Jajab district in Mogadishu following a dispute over a money that the mother had.
Cases of manslaughter have recently been soaring in the capital Mogadishu with victims largely being hapless mothers and children.
