MOGADISHU-The United Arab Emirate government has delivered food aids to drought affected families in Somalia. The plane carrying the donation arrived at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Khadija Diriye received the food aid from the UAE government and is scheduled to be given to the Somali people in the coming days.
This comes as the UAE donated its first donation in January this year was disbursed to drought affected families in Gedo region.
The donation was received by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who give out an apology to the UAE for the seizure of its $9.6M Money which was intercepted in 2018 at Mogadishu airport by the Somali government authorities.
During his visit to UAE last month, PM Roble discussed with the United Arab Emirates and Red cross Society and the UAE’s humanitarian agencies to deliver emergency assistance to the drought ravaged Somali people.
