NAIROBI- Gunmen riding on a motorbike have killed Mazin Hanna Matti, an employee for International Organisation for Migration when they accosted him along his residence around the lavish Lavington Suburb in Nairobi on Friday before fleeing from the scene after shooting Mr. Matti on the knee.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to security officers, the gunmen approached Mr. Hanna and commanded him to hand over his mobile phone and cash and shot him on the knee when he refused to comply with their order leading to officers guarding a nearby diplomatic residence to immediately respoond to the gun shots before the assailants fled from the scene on a motorbike.
Medical sources obtained from Mr. Mazzin showed that he died from excessive haemorrhage due to the delays occasioned in taking him to hospital for his injuries sustained from the robbery.
In a statement, the IOM said that it is devastated by the gruesome death of its employee in Nairobi, Kenya and said that the staff was killed in what appeared to be a violent robbery.
