LAMU- Kenya Defence Forces ( KDF) has killed four Al-Shabaab militant group this morning in Sarira Boni forest in Lamu county after engaging the soldiers who were e on routine patrol in the expansive Boni Forest which has been serving as a refuge and a hiding centre for the militants.
In a statement, KDF said the insurgents were trying to cross to the Kenya border during the encounter which saw scores of others with multiple injuries escape into the neighbouring country.
“The militants were trying to cross to the common border into Kenya during the early morning raid morning encounter.Others in the group escaped with multiple injuries the neighbouring country.” read the statement.

The Defence force also added that there were no injuries in the side of its troops during the incident, outlining that the Kenya troops under Amani Boni have since intensified patrols in the locality and with support from other forces and the local community continue to pacify the area.
The Al-Qaeda affiliate group- Al-Shabaab have in recent weeks stepped up bombings and attacks across Lamu and North Eastern Kenya were several people were killed and multiple others injured.
The group has also been involved in several attacks in Somalia particularly the capital Mogadishu where they have bombed civilians and police stations leaving behind tray of destruction of property and loss of lives.
