In a ruling delivered by three judge bench on Friday, the Court said it was not satisfied with the grounds to quash the High Court verdict that upheld the election of Keynan as MP for Eldas.
“The Court has no business crafting a jurisdiction it does not have, whatever amount of sympathy it may have on the applicant. It has to down its tools.” reads the statement in part.
His closest challenger Ahmed Boray had challenged the High Court which validated the election victory of Adan Keynan as Eldas MP.
Boray had argued that the election was not carried out in accordance with the constitution and election laws of the country.
However, the two courts threw out his Petition saying it lacks sufficient ground to overturn Keynan’s election win.
The legislator had on March 7 called for truce with his political nemesis Dr. Ahmed Boray for the benefit of the greater people of Eldas constituency.
Keynan who is serving his fifth term in parliament making him the longest- serving MP said that the people of Eldas need service delivery and development and are not interested in political sideshows and rhetorics.
He said he will ensure that the needy students in his constituency get bursaries and also vouch for more health facilities and availability of water.
Keynan was elected on a jubilee ticket while his closest challenger Boray vied on ODM ticket.
