DHUSAMAREB– Somalia’s Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Qoorqoor has on Wednesday received a high delegation from the United Nations ( UN) led by Saeed Wafaa, the head of UNICEF in Somalia in the capital Dhusamareb.
They discussed a wide range of issues including strengthening cooperations, durable solutions for Internally Displaced (IDP).
The monitoring and coordination of development projects in the regional State was also covered in the meeting.
QoorQoor thanked the UN Ambassador for her visit to the region highlighting the importance of closer cooperation between the UN and the Federal Member State.
On her part, she expressed the gratitude to the regional leader for the cordial reception and underscored the UN’s unwavering commitment to continue supporting the region.

Additionally, the UNICEF representative visited schools , hospitals and Elmab Centre in the city where she engaged with children and listened to their stories.
According to a statement carried on her Twitter handle, MS Warfa also heard from people who have been severely affected by the ongoing drought in the region and the country at large.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has initiated and implemented several development projects in Galmudug and has been involved in humanitarian assistance to people ravaged by drought and climate change.
