Somalia and Italy have reached a landmark bilateral agreement on bolstering bilateral cooperation between the two countries and improving crucial emergency services for the betterment of Somali citizens.
This was horned out of a high level meeting between Somalia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Abshir Jama was Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
During the meeting the two officials also emphasized on the importance of the two countries strengthening historic relations and fast track key areas of mutual interest to both countries.
Mr. Jamaa underscored the long standing relationship between the two Nations and the need to continue escalating the relations.

The Italian’s Foreign Affairs Minister hailed the efforts by the Somali government in economic development and the ongoing operations against Al-shabab militants group which has successfully borne fruits.
Tajani also highlighted the Italian’s government commitment to further supporting Somalia in different areas including implementation of development projects and economic recovery.
The Italy and Somalia continue to enjoy good diplomatic relations spanning over years with the Italian government extending a helping hand to the Somali Federal government in constitutional reforms, economic and security framework.
