ITALY– The Commissioner of Somalia National Disaster Management Agency Mahamuud Moallim who is part of the delegation accompanying President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Italy, Rome for the UN Food Systems Summit has on Tuesday held meeting with his Italian counterpart and other top officials from the Department of Civil Protection.
Their discussion encompassed several vital issues including a potential long-term cooperation between the two institutions.
The commissioner thanked his colleague for the meeting underscoring the need to explore and bolster cooperation between the both entities in the future posterity.

On his part, the head of the Italian Civil Protection reiterated the unwavering commitment by the department to fostering good relations with their Somali counterpart.
The commissioner was prior to the meeting taken through an educational tout of the Department facility.
Former and current Somali Ambassador to Italy and top officials from the Somali Disaster Agency were in attendance of the meeting .
