Operation Amani Boni (OAB) troops stationed at Bura within Bura East Sub County as a way of giving back to the community teamed up with Bura East National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) and Community leaders by offering logistical support and aiding during the distribution of government relief food to residents of MANSA BUBU, KIWANJA, DALSAN, HEMEJ, and GARASWEINO areas which are affected by the ongoing drought across the country.
Present during the distribution exercise were Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Hillary Bett, Mansa Bubu area Chief Mr. Sugow Omar, and area Chief Mr. Ali Maulid.
While overseeing the food distribution exercise Officer Commanding C COY 7 KR BURA FOB, Maj B W Kubasali noted that the hunger situation for most households in the Sub – County had reached alarming levels and the food will cushion the residents as the Government mitigate other means, he stated that KDF troops were happy to play a role in offering logistics support during the distribution exercise as a gesture for the residents as they observe the Holy Month of Ramadhan.

He thanked the community elders for their continued support to security forces and emphasized on the importance of the LAPSSET project to the community.
“As the holy month of Ramadhan commences, I believe you’ll be fasting under conditions that have been drastically affected by climate change causing unreliable rainfall and drought, it has not only affected our County but the whole country. I’m positive that the Government will stand by all those affected by this calamity.” Said Maj Kubasali.
Deputy County Commissioner Bura East Sub County Mr. Hillary Bett lauded the KDF for the logistics support and asked the residents to continue to accord support to security agencies that operate in the region, additionally, he echoed the sentiments of the OC by emphasizing support to the Government projects that are meant to contribute to the urbanization of towns in the LAPSSET corridor.
During the distribution exercise, beneficiaries received a variety of foodstuffs including maize and wheat flour, rice, sugar, pasta, tea leaves, and cooking oil.
