MOGADISHU- Somali Government is endeavouring to evacuate its citizens stranded in war- torn Sudan.
This pledge was made by Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama at Aden Abdulle International Airport in the capital Mogadishu on Sunday after receiving a plane carrying Somali Nationals evacuated from Sudan.

Two planes carrying the Somali Citizens arrived in the country on Sunday.
One plane took the evacuees to Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland regional State.
Women and children were among Somali citizens who were evacuated from Sudan today.
Somali government has since the escalation of war in Sudan been evacuating its citizens as heavy fighting and clashes continues to rage on in Sudan between the Army and the paralimilitary unit-Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) said it had launched hotlines for Somalis stranded in Sudan. According to the Agency the hotlines will run 24 hours daily and enable Somalis report their locations with ease in a bid to facilitate the evacuation process.

The Chargé d’Affaires of Somalia’s Embassy in Sudan Ahmed Abdi told Radio Muqdisho that 50 Percent of the Nationals left Sudan by crossing into Ethiopia and South Sudan.
Abdi also added that efforts are underway to pull out the remaining citizens out of Sudan in the coming days.
