NAIROBI– The nominee for Principal Secretary in the State Department for National Government Co-ordination, Hon. Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, has assured the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security of his commitment to enhancing efficiency and service delivery across all government agencies.

Appearing before the Committee for vetting and approval hearings, Hon. Ibrahim emphasized that his vast experience in the humanitarian sector would be instrumental in improving communication, coordination, and collaboration between government agencies.

The Committee, chaired by Hon. Gabriel Tongoyo, sought to understand the nominee’s perspective on the role for which he has been nominated.

In response, Hon. Ibrahim stated that the primary mandate of the State Department is to eliminate bottleneck within government agencies, thereby facilitating improved service delivery.

“The State Department will ensure seamless service provision, leading to sustainable development and enhanced communication,” stated Hon. Ibrahim.

The Committee’s Vice Chairperson, Hon. Col. (Rtd) Dido Rasso, tasked the nominee to outline some of the pro bono initiatives he has undertaken, having been a Member of Parliament for Wajir North.

Hon. Ibrahim responded by highlighting several community service efforts, including renovating mosques, constructing dams, paying school fees for orphans until they complete their studies, and covering hospital bills, among other charitable activities.

In his closing remarks, the nominee reiterated his commitment to improving service delivery and communication across government .

Following the vetting process and a thorough review of the submitted documents, the Committee will retreat to compile a report, which will subsequently be tabled in the House for consideration .
