Prof Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdisamad Somali Horn of Africa Analyst and researcher who was abducted by unknown people on 8th September 2021 along Tubman Road in Nairobi CBD has been found alive and reunited with his family.
It is still unclear who abducted Abdiwahab Abdisamad or where he was being held incommunicado for over a week.
Former deputy Speaker Farah Maalim, also confirmed the release of Prof Abdiwahab Abdismad via his Twitter handle and thanked the public for their support.
“Our Brother Dr. Abdiwahab Abdisamad has been released. I wish to thank all the defenders of freedom in our country & abroad who stood by our valued Scholar/Warrior for Regional Peace & Stability. We must defend with our last drop of blood our freedom of speech/association.”

Haki Africa human rights organization also confirmed via their social media that Prof Abdiwahab has reunited with his family.
“HAKI Africa condemns cases of enforced disappearances where citizens are abducted, not taken to court as per their constitution rights, and later on returned under mysterious circumstances.
In one day, three victims of enforced disappearance have been freed” Haki Africa said in a statement.

The family of Prof Abdiwahab Abdisamad has not yet issued an official statement regarding the releases of their kin by his captors.
