Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and his delegation have landed in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
PM Roble is expected to hold bilateral talks with the Unjted Arab Emirates UAE Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and other government officials in a bid to restore the diplomatic relations.
The Somali PM had today left from Mogadishu to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in what the his office said will be a two-day official State visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after invitation to Abu Dhabi.
PM Roble visit is seen as a leeway to restore the diplomatic relations between the two countries which has been frosty since 2018 after the Somali government confiscated $9.6M money that belonged to the UAE at Mogadishu airport over its intended purpose.
Roble had earlier this month vowed to return the money to the UAE government after receiving food and medical aid from the UAE for mitigation of the drought.
His visit comes amid tiff between him and President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who have been feuding over the management and handling of the ongoing Lower House elections which are set to come to a close next month.
