Renowned Somali scholar Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Umal has jetted back to the countrry from India where he went to seek further treatment to ailments.
The sheikh was received by host of leaders including people’s member of Parliament (MP) Hon Omar Adan among others.
The sheikh who was out of the country for close to a month and is said to have undergone a surgery done on his back after developing pain on it.

However, Social media became abuzz with news and reports of his alleged death in India insinuating that the preacher had succumbed to the operation performed on him.
Top Somali Scholars and preachers came out guns blazing rubbishing claims on social media platforms that the Sheikh had passed in stating that the Sheikh was in good shape and recuperating at the hospital.
Sheikh Umal was on February 2016 hospitalized at an Indian hospital where he underwent a kidney procedure after developing complications in his vital organ.
Sources close to the Sheikh understand that he is kicking and in jovial mood after successfully returning to the country and is now recuperating at his home.
Sheikh Umal is an Imam of masjid Abubakar Sadiq in Eastleigh’s 6th street and is known for his moving sermons and touching Islamic lectures.
