MOGADISHU– Somalia’s National Disaster Management and Turkish Red crescent have agreed to bolster the cooperation between the two agencies.
This follows a meeting between the Commissioner of National Disaster Management Agency Mahamuud Moallim and Niyazi Kalaycı, the new director of Red Crescent-Somalia which took place in the capital Mogadishu on Saturday.
The two officials also discussed providing training to the staff working at the emergency centers.

Moalim thanked the officials from the Red Crescent for their unwavering support to the Somali people and government.
On his part, Mr. Kalayci reiterated the Turkish government’s commitment to continue supporting the Somali people.
Turkish Res Crescent has been involved in helping the Somali people especially since the onset of the devastating drought that has gripped the Horn of Africa Nation.
It has distributed food and non- food items to poor families living across the country
