MOGADISHU– Somalia’s Speaker of the Lower House Sheikh Adan Madobe has held a consultative meeting with former President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
The meeting between the two officials took place at the official residence of the Speaker Madobe in the National capital Mogadishu on Monday.
They extensively discussed the general situation in the country, ongoing constitutional reforms and the impending laws on the table of the House.
The former Head of State urged the Speaker and his parliamentarians to discharge their duties as enshrined in the country’s law and bring forth laws that will transform the lives of the Somali people.

On his part, the Speaker Madobe expressed gratitude at the courtesy call y the President emeritus and pledged the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the state- building process.
Shariff had on Sunday met with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud where they deliberated on the controversial National Consultative Council (NCC) resolution , the Lascanood debacle and the deadly clashes between the Federal and regional troops in the country.
The Ex- President is among top officials in the country who have staged opposition on the outcome of the National Consultative Forum which resolved to amend the constitution and introduce a five year term for both Presidents and Parliament and return to universal suffrage.
