MOGADISHU– Somali Police Force commissioner General Sulub Ahmad Firin has on Monday held meeting with Saudi Ambassador to Somalia Ahmed Bin Mohamed Almowallad.
The meeting between the duo took place at the Embassy of Saudi in the National capital Mogadishu where Gen. Firin had a paid a courtesy visit.
The two officials discussed range of issues top among if being ways to solidify and bolster the strength of the Somali Police.
The Somali police commander thanked the Ambassador for the warm welcome he was accorded .
On his part , the Saudi Envoy reiterated his government’s commitment to further strengthening relations between the two countries.
Saudi has been providing support to the central government of Somalia in the areas of Financial aid , military and humanitarian relief.
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) in November last year distributed 70 tons of food aid to displaced people in Somalia’s following the devastating drought that has gripped the East African country.
A total of 6,000 vulnerable families benefited from the food aid.
Somalia’s diplomatic relations with Saudi has been growing since 2017 as the Horn of Africa Nation tries to rebuild the country that was titn apart by decades of civil war following the collapse of the military regime of former President Siyad Barre in 1991.
