MOGADISHU– Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is scheduled to visit Gala’d town in Galgadud region in the coming days.

During his visit, President Mohamud is expected to inspect the preparedness of the Somali National Army forces stationed in the area to combat with Al-Shabab.

The President will also hold meetings with the commanders of the security forces in the area in a bid to encourage them to bolster the war against Al-Shabaab.

He is also set to visit El- Dheer and Harare towns which have recently been liberated from the militants.

This comes as the Federal government continues to deploy contingents of special commandos of Danab and Gorgor of the Army as the government mulls over the beginning of the second phase of major onslaught against Al-Shabaab.

Somali National Army new Chief of Defence General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadin on Friday visited the SNA army camps in Gal’ad and El-Dheer towns where he called on the security forces to prepare for an offensive against the insurgents.
