MOGADISHU– The Prime Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, Monday afternoon inaugurated the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the National Security and Intelligence Agency.
The Office of the Public Arbitration, is responsible for handling public complaints about the violations committed by the NISA forces against the basic rights and freedoms of citizens, while also the citizens can directly contact this office.
The Prime Minister praised the National Security and Intelligence Agency for the implementation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which strengthens the confidence of the Somali people in the agency.

Prime Minister Hamsa said that significant progress has been made by the agency in recent years, and he urged the various leaderships of the agency to strengthen their efforts to enhance national security.
Through a statement, Somali Prime Minister office said the office will facilitate the channeling of complaints from members of public on the excesses committed by the intelligent agents.
The statement further added that the office will promote transparency and accountability among the intelligent officers.
Somalia’s intelligent officers have on several occasions been accused of perpetrating killing of civilians and violations against human rights.
