MOGADISHU– Somali Prime Minister Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre has on Thursday in the capital Mogadishu held meeting with the Ambassador of Qatar to Somalia Dr. Abdullah bin Salem Al Nuaimi on Wednesday.
They discussed range of issues pertinent to both sides including bilateral cooperation relations.
Prime minister Barre expressed gratitude at the Ambassador for his visit reiterating the Somali government commitment to continue working and collaborating with Qatar in different sectors.
He emphasized the need for continued cooperation between the two countries in the field of security, political and economic development.
PM Barre also shared with the Ambassador the successes made by the Somali Federal government forces in combatting with Al-Shabab militant group.
On his side, Ambassador Al Nuaimi thanked the Prime Minister for the cordial reception and underscored the importance of bolstering cooperation between the two Nations.
Mr. Al Nuaimi pledged his government unwavering commitment to continue rendering a helping hand to the Somali government in the war against terror and state building process.
Qatar and Somalia have maintained close diplomatic relations for years .
Qatar has been the primary partner of Somali government and has been involved in efforts aimed at reviving and rebuild the Somali Federal government.
The Arab country has supported the Horn of Africa Nation in the political, economic development, humanitarian and in education where Qatar has greatly contributed to eradication of illiteracy in Somalia.
