The Special Envoy for Drought Response Abdirahman Abdishakur on Tuesday held meeting with Italy’s Deputy Ambassador to Somalia Massimiliano Bertollo.

The meeting between the two officials took place in the capital Mogadishu.

Abdishakur appealed to the Envoy to restart its support program to Martiini Hospital and the hospitals in Jowhar, Hudur Dhusamareb towns.

These hospitals are taking care of malnourished children who have been severely affected by the ongoing devastating drought in the country.

Somalia is currently facing the worst drought in decades following the failure of four consecutive rainy seasons.
