NAIROBI– Kenya and Somalia on Wednesday signed a bilateral air services agreement that will see their airlines enhance the frequency of travel between the two countries.
The agreement, which was signed by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Transport and and Fardowsa Osman Egal, Somali minister for Transport and Civil Aviation, permits the civil aviation authorities of both countries to work hand in hand for the benefit of the development of the industries.
Murkomen in a statement carried on his Twitter handle, said that the designated airlines of the two Nations would be allowed to operate seven weekly frequencies for passenger flights as established in specified routes while designated airlines operating cargo flights may operate unlimited frequencies.
“The designated airlines of both countries may also enter code-sharing arrangements with any airline, including third country airlines provided that it has an underlying traffic act,” he said.
