The African Union peace keeper troops have largely been involved in helping the communities living under their areas of jurisdictions following the onset of drought and other natural calamities which have depleted the livelihoods of the local communities.
ATMIS have in previous occasions disbursed food supplies and repaired malfunctioning water pumps and taps in several areas in Kismayo town in Jubbaland State and even across the Horn of Africa Nation.
Somalia is grappling with myriad challenges posed by the ongoing debilitating drought and Al-Shabab which have compelled thousands of people to flee their native homes in search of peace and sustenance.
