MOGADISHU– Somalia Federal government and the United Kingdom have agreed to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
This is following a meeting between Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama and UK Ambassador to Somalia Mike Nithavrianakis at the office of Deputy Prime Minister in the capital Mogadishu on Sunday.
The meeting between the two officials also covered the security situation in the country, counterterrorism and other pertinent issues to both Nations

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the UK Ambassador for the continued support of the British government to Somalia and called for the bolstering of the strategic relationships between the two countries.
On his part, Ambassador Mike Nithavrianakis highlighted the importance of closer cooperation and reiterated the UK’s government to commitment to continue rendering unwavering support to the Federal government of Somalia.
The UK has historically been involved in helping the East African Nation in different facets including Security, humanitarian assistance and State building processes.
