NAIROBI – Police in Nairobi are pursuing five people in relation to an incident in Eastleigh area on Sunday where a woman was captured clobbering another woman.
In a two minute video that has gone viral on social media, the perpetrator was seen battering another woman inside a shop which led to calls for investigation by police.
According to police, the video was taken by a brother to the perpetrator who is in incarceration.
The main suspect who has been identified as Ayan Mohamed Dahir (Ayan Dhalad), a tiktok star and five other people who accompanied her have since gone into hiding.
Confirming the incident to the media, Fredrick Abuga, Starehe Sub-county police commander said police are pursuing the perpetrator and her accomplices who have since gone at large.
Abuga said that police officers have arrested a suspect and are pursuing the other offenders.
The matter was reported at Eastleigh Police Post.
At Nairobi East hospital , the victim Najma Mohamed alias “Najma DDS” is nursing serious wounds on her face and with the extent of the assault on her bruised face clearly conspicuous.
Najma who spoke to journalist who visited her at the facility narrated the events that led to the Sunday’s escapade.
“I was at my place of work on Sunday evening oblivious of any impending ominous plan on me.” she said.
Ms Mohamed said her tribulations began when she opened a shop adjacent to the perpetrator and linked the assault to business rivalry.
Medical reports obtained by media showed Najma underwent several medical tests including a CT scan on the brain and a chest x-ray that established she is out of the woods.
Najma however called for police to do justice for her and arrest the perpetrator and her accomplices.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have since taken over the matter.
Online netizens have for the better part of Sunday night and Monday morning been poking holes on how the perpetrator wrestled the victim on the ground with some insinuating that the offender was assisted by other people who were identified as relatives.
