DOHA QATAR– Somalia president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has this evening landed in Doha, Qatar where is expected to meet with Emir of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamim for two days State visit.
President Farmajo was accorded a warm reception upon landing at the airport where he was received by his Qatar counterpart.
Farmajo will be in Qatar for two days official State visit after receiving invitation from the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad.
Villa Somalia in a statement carried on their Twitter handle stated that the President left the country for Qatar this morning on an official duty upon invitation from his counterpart in Qatar.
In his two days State visit president Farmajo and Emir Hamim will discuss on how to strengthen the bilateral relations of both countries.
“The president in his visit will also that will grace the opening of FIFA Arab cup along side other Arab leaders aimed at promoting integration and enhancing cooperation for the prosperity of the participants countries.” read in part.

President Farmajo will also officiate a prayer meeting with other visiting Arab leaders who will officiate the opening of World FIFA Arab cup which is set to begin Tomorrow in the capital Qatar ahead of 2022 World FIFA cup 2022.
The president is accompanied by first lady Zeinab Abdi Maalim, Foreign Affairs minister Abdisaid Muse Ali, Minister of sports and youth Affairs Hamze Said Hamze and chairman of Somalia Sports Association Abdiqani Said.
Farmajo’s visit comes amid a heightened uproar in Somalia over the management and handling of the ongoing parliamentary elections which is continuing to elicit various from different quarters including the international community.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble had on Sunday in his official residence met with council of presidential candidates to quell tension amid increasing claims of a flawed electoral process.
PM Roble assured the opposition presidential candidates of ensuring that the integrity of the elections will be upheld and every candidate will be accorded their rights to contest in the poll.
Section of opposition leaders accuse president Farmajo of having a big hand in influencing the election results and called for the revoking of results in areas where opposition candidates where barred from contesting.
