NAIROBI- A Wajir court on Friday Afternoon upheld the election victory of Burder Ward Member of County Assembly Mr Abdirashid Adan popularly know as “Tajir”.
Abdirashid ran on a UDA ticket in last year’s August election and defeated ODM’s Mohamud Abdi Hassan
Wajir Principal magistrate Rosalynn Aganyo upheld the election of Mr Abdirashid Adan and condemned the petitioner with a cost of two million Shillings.
According to the respondent lawyer Mr Paul Nyaga, the petitioner made a premature appeal that was dismissed in three to four days.
Speaking exclusively to Frontier Online, incumbent MCA Abdirashid Adan said he welcomes the court judgment, and thus he is ready to continue with developmental agenda for the people of his ward.
“I am deeply humbled by the decision of the Magistrate Court of Wajir that has today upheld and confirmed my election as the MCA of Burder Ward, This decision is timely as it now frees me to fully concentrate on the Programmes I am currently running throughout the Ward” said Abdirashid.

He also urged his competitor Mr Mohamud to join him in delivering for the people of Burder Ward.
“Now that the matter has been resolved, in the spirit of building bridges, I welcome my brother Mohamud Abdi Hassan to join hands with me to deliver for the great people of Burder during this hard times of bitting drought” said Abdirashid.
Lastly Abdirashid thanked the court, his lawyers and the people of Burder, and thus reiterated his commitment to the people of Burder and work and endeavor to go above and beyond the call of duty.
