Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The Saudi government has stunned the World after announcing that it is banning Tablighi Jamaat, a transnational Sunni Islamic missionary movement, calling it dangerous for society.
In s statement released by the Saudi’s ministry of Islamic Affairs and posted on the Twitter handle of the ministry, the government admonished people against involving or associating themselves with the group describing them as “one of the gates of terrorism”.
“His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr Abdullatif Al_Alsheikh The preachers of mosques and mosques in which Friday prayers are temporarily held, by dedicating the next Friday sermon 6/5/1443 AH to warn against (the Tablighi and Da’wah group), which is called (the Beloved) (sic),” read the statement in part.
The ministry also urged the mosques to dedicate the next Friday sermons to warning and giving guidance to people against take part in any activity or enrolling themselves in the group and further directed the sermons to include topics like:
1. The misguidance, deviation and danger of this group, and that it is one of the gates of terrorism, even if they claim otherwise.
2. 2. Mention their most prominent mistakes.
3. 3. Mention that they are a danger to society.
4. 4. A statement that affiliation with partisan groups, including (the Tablighi and Dawah Group) is prohibited in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Tablighi Jamaat is a transnational Sunni Islamic missionary movement that focuses on encouraging fellow Muslims to adhere to the pure form of Sunni Islam. They normally exhort the Muslims to follow the dressing code, rituals and personal behaviour strictly.
