NAIROBI-A 40 year-old man on Wednesday gave himself in to police officers after killing his younger brother Abdinasir using a knife in a row over a property of Sh200 million located in Eastleigh and Rongai in Kajiado County.
Starehe police commander Julius Kiragu told the press that the two have been feuding over a family property leading to the death of the younger brother.
“They went physical before one of them stabbed the other killing him on the spot,” Kiragu said.
Kiragu added that they were fortunate to recovered the weapon used and have planned take the suspect to court as investigation into the incident continues.
He urged Kenyans to seek intervention through police or courts of law in a bid to prevent such a crime.
However, Frontier Online spoke to a friend who knew the assailant, Hussein Mohamed not his real name described the suspect as a very cordial and philanthropic person who liked helping the less fortunate people in the society.
“Hussein” further detailed how the man who was in-charge of the mulit-million property owned by his sister who is out of the country went berserk and killed his younger brother only named as Abdinasir.
“At the time of the incident, the killer and deceased, two other siblings and their brother in- law were locked in a meeting to deliberate on how to resolve the feud over the property and in the process of the dialogue the suspect learnt that his younger brother is a shareholder of the property and immediately pounched on him killing him on the spot before injuring one of his other brother who tried to separate them,” said Mohamed.
His brother in- law after beholding the dead body lying in front of him, fainted on the spot and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
According to Hussein, the suspect after committing the killing surrendered himself to the police and thereafter locked up in a cell before his mother intervened and released him from the custody.
