African Union Transition Mission in Somalia ATMIS) on Monday held a meeting with senior ATMIS military and police officers, Jubaland Security Forces representatives and local leaders.
The high level meeting centred on the current security situation in the region and the fight against terrorism.
The ATMIS second in command police who is an familiarisation tour in Dhobley town, was received by ATMIS Individual Police Officers Team-side Leader, ASP French Sylvester and senior military officers drawn from the Kenya Defense Forces.
The Deputy police Commander was briefed about the security status and efforts being undertaken to combat with Al-Shabab.
CP Amoru commended ATMIS Kenyan troops for working closely with their police counterparts in maintaining and securing the region.

Al-Shabaab controls large swathe of land in Jubbaland State and the ATMIS Peace Mission has been engrossed in efforts aimed at eradicating the extremists group from the region.
On a different development, ATMIS ENDF troops in Sector 3 yesterday convened a handover ceremony in Baidoa, South West State to commemorate the successful completion of troop rotation.
The event also gave a platform for the recognisation of soldiers who completed their tour of duty, honoring them with certificates of appreciation.

The ATMIS Sector 3 Commander, Brig.Gen. Besfat Fente Tegegn presided over the closing ceremony for the 7th-8th swap service round.
He commended the outgoing soldiers for their mission success and encouraged the incoming troops to discharge their duties diligently and continue the excellent work.
Among those in attendance of the ceremony were; officials from South West State, United Nations, UK-STAT, community representatives, and civilians who received certificates for their contributions to the mission.
