Mandera County Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif has exuded confidence in the newly sworn in Chief officers, saying they are up to the task.
Speaking during their swearing on Monday, Governor Khalif challenged the Chief officers to discharge their duties in accordance with the expectations of the residents and within the confines of the law adding that any underperforming Chief officer will face the axe.
“As we gather here to swear in our new chief officers, let us be mindful of the trust that our community has placed in us as their leaders. It is a responsibility that we cannot take lightly, and we should be committed to serving our constituents with dedication and humility.” he said.

The county boss further pledged his government commitment to alleviating the biting effects of the drought.
He added that the free education program has so far received overwhelming response asserting that his administration will soon begin dispatching animal feeds.
“Furthermore, we are preparing to dispatch animal feeds. However, we recognize that, as humans, there is only so much we can do, and therefore, let us turn to the Almighty and pray for rain and a sustainable solution.” said Khalif.
The employment and Labour relations court had in November bared governor Khalif from appointing the 33 chief officers following a petition filled county resident identified as Abdullahi Mohamed Ahmed.
However the matter was settled out of the court, following an agreement between the relevant parties on 7th March 2023.
