NAIROBI- Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale and his Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs counterpart Dr. Alfred Mutua, have this evening received, His Excellency Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic of Italy at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

The visiting Head of State is on a three-day official visit in the country where he is expected to hold bilateral talks on a range of issues with his host, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, His Excellency William Ruto.

President Mattarella is expected to visit, among other places, the Luigi Broglio Space Centre in Malindi. The Centre is operated jointly by the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) and the Italian Space Agency.

Hon. Duale was designated as the escort of honour. Others present to receive the head of state were the Italian Ambassador to Kenya His Excellency Roberto Natali, his Deputy Mr. Lorenza Gambacorta, Italian Defence Attachè in Kenya Colonel Mario De Rosa among others.
