NAIROBI – The brother to Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Barre Duale is among six new appointees for parastals across the various state – owned corporations.
In a gazette notice dated January 19, 2023 seen by Frontier Online, President William Ruto made six new parastatal appointments including CS Duale’s brother.
Noor Bare Duale was appointed to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company for a period of three years.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces appoint Abdi Barre Duale to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company for a period of three years.” read the notice.
Abdi will immediately take over the rein from Brig. (Rtd.) David Azangu Ngaira whose appointment has been revoked.

Dr. Charles Githinji has also been picked as the Chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, a position he will hold for the next three years.
“I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces appoint
President Ruto also ordered that Sophy Nekoye Waliula serve as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board, for a period of three years.
Others are; Fatma Bakari Barayan who has been named as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Board , Phillip Mong’ony who was named to be the Chairperson of the State Corporations Advisory Committee for a period of three years effective today and Surum Ipato Korema who will serve as Chairperson of the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board for the next six years.
Korema will replace Agnes Mantaine Pareiyo whose appointment has been rescinded.
Until his appointment Abdi served as the Chairman of the Kenya Leather Development Council board following his surprise removal from the Kenya Revenue Authority ( KRA) board by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018.
