DHUSAMAREB– Somalia’s Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi QoorQoor has on Wednesday received high level delegation from the European Union led by EU’s Ambassador to Somalia Tiina Intelman.
The meeting which took place at the region’s Presidential Palace in the capital Dhusamareb centred on further strengthening collaboration between the EU and the regional State.
QoorQoor briefed the EU Ambassador on the prevailing situation in the State particularly the security and drought situation.
They also talked about democratisation process and EU’s investment in the local economic infrastructure.

In a press briefing held after the meeting, the regional leader thanked the EU’s continued support to Somalia particularly the Galmudug and urged them to heighten their assistance.
Mrs. Intelman expressed delight at the cordial reception she and her delegation were granted and underscored the EU’s continued support to the regional State.

The EU has initiated several projects including building of boreholes in Galmudug State to help the local communities overcome the vagaries of climate change and adverse effects of the drought.
