Mustafe Mohamed Omar has been re-elected as the president of the Somali regional state in Ethiopia amid an ongoing war in the country’s north piting between Ethiopian government soldiers and Tigray forces.
Mustafe Mohamed made a come back as president of the regional state to serve a second four year term. Ibrahim Osman also picked as the vice president of the Somali state.
The regional parliament elected Ayaan Abdi as the first female speaker and Ibrahim Ali becoming the deputy speaker.
President Mustafe took over the leadership mantle from the then interim president Ahmed Abdi who was appointed after the ouster and detention of Abdi Illey following a concocted conflict that rocked the region which left dozens of people dead and precipitated a large scale of humanitarian crisis.
