MOGADISHU-Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has on Tuesday held meeting with foreign diplomats in Mogadishu as the country continues with Lower House elections.
According to a statement from the office of the Prime Minister, a raft of topics ranging from the transparency of the ongoing Parliamentary elections, upholding of Women’s 30% quota and security situation were discussed in the meeting.

PM Roble promised the diplomats that he will ensure the completion of the ongoing Lower House elections across the country within the timeline set by the National Consultative Council Assembly in January which scheduled February 25th as the deadline for the completion of the parliamentary elections.
Roble also stressed on the need to have the upholding of the Women 30% quota and pledged before the diplomats that the women will be allocated more seats in the remaining elections seats of the House of People.
While touching on the issue of security forces being used in elections, PM Roble said that he will not entertain the meddling in politics of the security agencies and urged them to stay out of politics and instead stick to their roles of providing security to the elections and the Nation.
Massive claims of riggings and manipulation has been reported in the ongoing elections as regional States Presidents continue to produce candidates who espouse the same ideologies with them.
