MOGADISHU-Two large explosions have on Saturday afternoon rocked Somalia’s capital Mogadishu causing heavy casualties and destroying the buildings nearby.
According to the Somali Police Spokesman Sadik Dubishe, the attack happened at the Ministry of Education Headquarters which is along Zoobe, a heavily populated junction.
Universal TV reporter Mohamed Isse Kona and Hussein Aded Osman, Hodan District Police Commissioner are among those killed in the explosions.
Two other journalists from Reuters and VOA Somali were also wounded in the attack.

Videos taken from the scene showed plumes of somkes rising above the sky as people scampered for safety.
Ambulances were also captured evacuating the injured and dead bodies to the hospitals.
Police were also looking for the relative of a little girl who was rescued from the explosion.
The little girl’s mother was among those killed in the bombings.
Somali Journalists syndicate has strongly condemned the attack against journalists calling for protection of media personnel in Mogadishu.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks, however Al-Shabab militant group usually take credit for such attacks in the Horn of Africa Nation.
The suicide explosions also amid an ongoing National Consultative Council meeting that brought together Federal government of Somalia and Federal Member States.
The top agenda of the meeting is the ongoing operations across Somalia against Al-Shabaab insurgents.
