MOGADISHU– The Federal government of Somalia has vehemently condemned the terrorist attack on Saturday at the Mpondwe/Lubiriha Secondary School in Kasese District of Uganda in which over 41 students were massacred and six others abducted.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through a pres statement expressed sadness at the unfortunate incident of loss of innocent students lives and injuries.
The statement added that the Ministry extended its deep and profound condolences and sympathies to the families affected by the horrific incident.

The Ministry further prayed for the government and the people of Uganda during this trying moments.
The school which is located on the porous border of Uganda with Congo in the town of Kasese over 20 members of the ISIS-linked Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel group wielding crude weapons like machetes attack the institution late on Friday, setting ablaze dormitories housing the students according to Uganda’s military officials.
The attack has attracted a horde of condemnation from across the globe with the United Nations calling for immediate release of people abducted by the militants.
Extending “heartfelt condolences” to victims and their families, Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for the immediate release of those abducted and reiterated “the importance of collective efforts to tackle cross border insecurity between Congo and Uganda and restore durable peace in the area.”
Uganda’s government said it is pursuing the rebels whom they believe have crossed over to DRC.
Uganda and Somalia have had good diplomatic and bilateral relations for many years.
Uganda is the largest contributor of troops to the peace keeping mission on the Horn of Africa Nation.
